Feyenoord vs Fenerbahce Predictions
These two sides are facing off for a spot in the last 32 of the Europa League. One of these two is likely to join Manchester United in the last round, that’s despite the Red Devils coming into the final round second in the group. They’re expected to see off Zorya Luhansk, which would be enough to book their spot in the knockout round.
That leaves one spot up for grabs, with Feyenoord and Fenerbahce pushing for it. Can the Dutch league leaders use their home form to edge this huge clash? It’s likely to be a tight affair, as they’ll both be afraid to go behind and leave themselves with a mountain to climb. An error on either side could end this clash, as both of these teams are fantastic at the back.
Fenerbahce are likely to come here and keep things tight, as they know a draw puts them through to the next round. They have a strong away record ahead of this game, which gives them a great chance of qualifying. They’ve conceded just 0.83 goals per game in their league matches on the road, so you’d expect they’re perfectly set up to park the bus here. They’ve lost just 17% of their away league games, can they continue that kind of form in Rotterdam?
Fener have seen just 46% of their domestic games go above 2.5 goals this season, so they’re clearly not a high scoring side. Meanwhile, Feyenoord are going to be confident of keeping the visitors quiet too. They’ve conceded just 0.75 goals per game at home this term, while they’re yet to lose a match at De Kuip all season.
Feyenoord haven’t even conceded a home goal in the Europa League so far. One worry for them is their scoring form in Europe. They’ve converted just 8% of their chances into goals at home. While that’s been enough for six points here, it’s a worry against a Fener defence who clearly don’t give a lot away.
We aren’t likely to see either of these two teams run away with this game. The first meeting between them in this group was a 1-0 victory for the Turkish side, and this one could be just as close. After looking at their defensive records, it’s likely that this is going to be a cagey game. That’s why we’re going against both teams to score here. BTTS no is 19/20 with bet365, and it looks like good value when you consider the form these two have at the back.
