Can Tuzla claw back?

Tuzla City picked up an impressive 8-0 aggregate win over minnows Tre Penne to reach this stage of the Europa Conference League, before losing 1-0 in the first leg of this tie against AZ last week.

This is a first season in European competition for last year’s Bosnia and Herzegovina top-flight runners-up, who won just three of their final ten games last season.

They are usually pretty strong defensively though, conceding more than once in only one of their last 11 competitive fixtures.

Alkmaar in the box seat

AZ Alkmaar are rightly the favourites for this clash, though they were somewhat underwhelming in the first leg in the Netherlands, hence their slender advantage going into the reverse fixture.

Perhaps the Dutch outfit were just lacking in match practice, given it was their first competitive game, but they have since beaten Bologna 1-0 in a friendly.

Pascal Jansen’s side reached the knock-out stages of this competition last season, losing to Bodo Glimt having topped their group, and with only one of their four away outings containing three or more goals.
