Coritiba enjoyed a derby win against city rivals Atletico PR in midweek and the hero was a familiar name to fans of English football. Former Sheffield United and Blackburn forward Colin Kazim-Richards came off the bench to score the only goal of the game on his debut for the club. The win also lifted Coritiba out of the relegation zone although they have been in reasonable form for a while now having lost only 1 of their last 6 matches and they should therefore travel to Rio de Janeiro with belief they can get a result.

Part of that belief must come from the fact that Fluminense have been really quite unimpressive so far. They are 3 points better off than their opponents but have lost 3 of their last 4 games coming into this match. They’ve suddenly started conceding goals which is what has contributed to that poor run of results. Having let in just 7 goals in their opening 8 matches, they have shipped 9 in 4 games since then including 4 in their most recent home game against Santos. They have won on the road against bitter rivals Flamengo since then but their overall form is patchy at best and they are missing some important players here so the visitors certainly have a chance.

Fluminense have been quite open of late and with home advantage against a bottom half side, they will certainly be targeting the win but that has left them exposed at the back with plenty of goals flying in at both ends of the pitch. The visitors are looking likely to bring Kazim-Richards in up front alongside top scorer Gladiador so it seems they will be doing more than just parking the bus and they have genuine reason to believe they can win or at least get something from the game.

Both teams have scored in over 50% of the matches involving each of these two teams this season and backing both teams to score at 21/20 looks to offer plenty of value here.
