Both teams can strike at Hampden Park

Motherwell and Rangers clash in the second of the two Scottish League Cup semi-final ties at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers are the clear favourites and should be able to get the job done, but they’ve been in mixed form of late and Motherwell are no pushovers so the better angle is going for goals at both ends at a bigger price.

The Well managed to score in defeat at Ibrox in the Premiership earlier this season and they won 2-1 in Glasgow towards the end of last season. Goals at both ends has also been a feature of Motherwell’s games recently, landing in seven of their last nine games, and Rangers have struggled for clean sheets of late with just two in their last six across all competitions.

Rangers have lost three of their last six games but they did beat Motherwell 2-1 earlier in the season and can bounce back from a midweek loss at Aberdeen by booking a place in the final. Motherwell have two defeats in their last three, but have only lost four games all season and three of those losses have been by one-goal margins so take Rangers to edge out Stuart Kettlewell’s men in Glasgow.
