This ‘Golden Generation’ of French players are hoping to reach the Women’s European Championships semi-finals for the first time, and they certainly have the form to do so.

Les Bleues made six changes for their last game, a 1-1 draw with Iceland, already safe in the knowledge they had qualified for the last eight as group winners.

That was the first time in 18 games that Corinne Diacre’s side had failed to win, while both teams have netted in six of their last nine outings.

The Netherlands building momentum

The Netherlands have reached the last eight after picking up two wins and a draw, with both teams scoring in each of those matches.

Their route to the quarter-finals was made a bit tougher by a 1-1 stalemate with Sweden in their opening group game, but they are certainly building momentum, hammering Switzerland 4-1 last time out.

Mark Parsons’ side have in fact kept just three clean sheets in their last nine, with both teams netting in the other half a dozen, while they lost 3-1 to France at the Tournoi de France earlier this year.

I predict that both teams will score in this fixture, but I still expect France to get the win, with 2-1 my correct score prediction.
