Draw

Reason for tip

Fulham are going through a bit of a rough patch but they remain tough to beat at their own ground and have only been beaten once at home this season. Villa have just one defeat in their last five but they’ve also only won one of those games, and with both of these teams struggling for form they may well cancel each other out.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Villa may have issues in attack but they are fairly strong defensively as only Arsenal and Chelsea have managed to score more than once against them since the opening weekend. Fulham have scored in all of their home games but goals could still be in short supply and a 1-1 appeals.

Aleksandar Mitrovic To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Aleksandr Mitrovic has seven goals in just nine Premier League appearances this season and has eight goals in his last eight games for club and country.  As such, the in-form Serbian looks a good candidate for an anytime goal.

Pressure mounting on Villa boss Gerrard

Aston Villa head to Fulham on Thursday under a cloud of uncertainty as the future of boss Steven Gerrard is under intense scrutiny.

Reports emerged on Tuesday stating he had been sacked but those claims were wide of the mark. However, Gerrard’s position looks far from secure and there is further speculation he has been told he has until the World Cup to turn things around, while some sources are claiming the out-of-work Mauricio Pochettino has been lined up as a possible replacement.

Gerrard and Villa could desperately do with a three-point haul at Fulham but Craven Cottage hasn’t been an easy hunting ground for visiting teams this season.

Spoils could be shared in West London

Fulham are going through a bit of a rough patch with three defeats in their last five games, and five in their last eight going back further, but they remain tough to beat at their own ground.

The Cottagers have only been beaten once at home this season and they lost Nathaniel Chalobah to a red card inside the first 10 minutes of that 4-1 loss to Newcastle.

Villa saw a four-game unbeaten run ended in a one-sided 2-0 loss at home to Chelsea over the weekend. However, they only managed one win during that stint and goals have been an issue for Gerrard’s side as they have just seven strikes in 10 games so far, so winning this game may be a stretch for the under-pressure visiting boss.

With both of these teams struggling for form and results they may well cancel each other out and a draw appeals for our main bet. Villa may have issues in attack but they are fairly strong defensively as only Arsenal and Chelsea have managed to score more than once against them since the opening weekend. As such, goals could be in short supply and a 1-1 result looks a reasonable option for the correct score selection,

Mitrovic the danger man

Aleksandr Mitrovic has seven goals in just nine Premier League appearances this season and he was on target from the spot in the draw with Bournemouth last time out.

The Serbian striker has eight goals in his last eight games for club and country and looks a good candidate for an anytime goal on Thursday.
