Rovers can restrict Fulham in battle for redemption

Fulham inflicted on Blackburn the heaviest home defeat of their 147-year history in November when they won 7-0 at Ewood Park, but this will be very different.

The Cottagers are still comfortably the most potent attacking force in the division, but they are no longer on pace to break the all-time goalscoring record for the second tier after a few below-par performances. No-one foresaw the 7-0 drubbing at Blackburn coming, so another one cannot totally be ruled out, but there’s little doubt that Fulham are trending downwards in the goalscoring stakes. They are also set to face one of the meanest defences in the Championship this weekend as Rovers head to west London in search of revenge and redemption.

Tony Mowbray’s side were already 2-0 down by the time they were reduced to ten men in that earlier Ewood Park encounter, but there’s no doubt Blackburn’s defensive issues have been addressed since that day.
