Fulham to Win

Reason for tip

Crystal Palace have made a great improvement under Roy Hodgson but their away form is still patchy and that could make them vulnerable at Fulham

Fulham 2-1

Reason for tip

Fulham have kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 league games at Craven Cottage and Crystal Palace can score. However, the home side have their attack boosted by Aleksandar Mitrovic’s return and a 2-1 home win looks a decent correct-score selection

Aleksandar Mitrovic To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Aleksandar Mitrovic’s return is a huge boost for Fulham and, after he scored as a substitute against Southampton last week, he should be back to lead the line after his lengthy suspension, so he looks a good bet to find the net.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace Predictions

  • Crystal Palace have lost ten of their 18 Premier League away games this season.
  • Fulham have kept one clean sheet in their last 11 games at Craven Cottage.
  • Seven of Fulham’s last ten home matches have featured at least three goals.

Palace have produced a decent finish

Crystal Palace have done well to drag themselves away from relegation trouble in the last few months, but there has been a marked contrast between their home and away form so they could be up against it at Fulham.

Veteran manager Roy Hodgson visits one of his former clubs knowing that while the Eagles have more than enough points to be comfortable in mid-table, they have got something from just eight of their 18 league away games this term.

Since he replaced Patrick Vieira at the Selhurst helm, they have posted victories at Leeds and Southampton, but they have claimed just four success on the road all season and they have all come at teams residing below them in the table.

Since that win at St Mary’s they have been beaten at Tottenham and Wolves, so there is a stark contrast to how they have been getting on at home, where Manchester City are the only team to have beaten them in their last nine home games.

Mitrovic return massive for Fulham

Fulham have been unable to keep up the strong pace they showed in the first half of the season as they rode the promotion euphoria wave, but they have won their last two games against Leicester and Southampton.

They had lost three games before that but those defeats came against two teams in excellent form – Aston Villa and Liverpool – and Manchester City, who were made to work hard for a 2-1 win at Craven Cottage.

The big news for Fulham is that striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is back from a lengthy suspension and that will give Marco Silva’s attack a stronger focus.

It is almost two months since he was red carded in the FA Cup defeat at Manchester United, but he emerged from the bench to score in the 2-0 win over the Saints last week and should be firing and ready to go.

That is a big plus for the home team and with the Serbian back and firing, that gives them the edge over a Palace team who are a lot more comfortable when they are not on their travels.
