Fulham vs Wolverhampton Predictions
- Both teams have scored in seven of Fulham’s last eight Premier League matches
- Wolves’ 2-0 over Southampton last time out ended a run of ten league games in which both teams scored
- Gary O’Neil’s side have conceded at least twice in seven of their last eight league away games
Wolves boosted by first success
There was a great deal of relief at Molineux before the international break when Wolves finally grabbed their first Premier League win of the season at Southampton’s expense and manager Gary O’Neil will now be desperate to see his team push up the table.
To do that, the Midlands outfit have to get a grip on their defending so while they look likely to be positive when they head to Fulham on Saturday, a goal may be all they have to show for their efforts.
There is little escaping the fact it has been a poor start but there were signs that things were improving before their win over the Saints as they were denied a point by an injury-time goal against champions Manchester City and they earned a 2-2 draw at Brighton when they scored two goals in the closing stages at the Amex.
With Fulham having conceded in all five of their league home games this season, both teams scoring is a confident main bet for the meeting at Craven Cottage at the weekend.
Cottagers may just have the edge
It could prove to be a close game on the banks of the Thames, but those looking for a correct-score selection may want to lean towards the home side coming out on top.
Aston Villa are the only visiting team to have won at the Cottage in the league this season and it is hard to ignore that defender Jerome Andersen was sent off with 25 minutes to go.
Wolves’ away defensive record is also a cause for concern as they have conceded 13 goals in five away league games, so go for a 2-1 win for Marco Silva’s team.
Jimenez can make his mark
Fulham striker Raul Jimenez gets the nod in terms of an anytime goalscorer.
The Mexican made his name at the club he faces at the weekend and there have been signs he is settled into London life after establishing himself as Silva’s first-choice centre forward.
Three of his four goals this season have come at Craven Cottage and he has had at least two efforts at goal in each of his eight league starts this season, so he can end his three-match goal drought.
