Gazelec Ajaccio vs Paris Saint Germain Betting Tips & Predictions

Gazelec Ajaccio were surefire favourites to be relegated from Ligue 1 this season, but with just two games remaining the minnows find themselves on the cusp of a second season in the top flight. However, the work isn’t done yet. They are only one point above the bottom three, with Reims and Toulouse below them both in with a chance of leapfrogging them in the final two games.

Bastia are only one point adrift of them, but they do have games against Marseille and Lyon coming up so it’s unlikely that they can pick up more than a point from those two games. Toulouse have the best chance of making up the three point gap between the two sides. They are in good form and face matches against bottom of the table Troyes and mid-tabled Angers in the final two games. There are points to be had for Toulouse.

This means that Gazelec Ajaccio potentially need three or more points from their remaining two games, and a hosing of runaway Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain doesn’t bode well for them.

The hosts have only won one of their last six in Ligue 1 and have lost four times, although at home they have managed to win two of their last four and only lost three of their last seven.

Paris Saint Germain are an entirely different beast to the rest of the Ligue 1 competitors though. They sit on a huge 89 points, and just need a single point more to surpass the Ligue 1 points record for a single season, set by themselves a couple of seasons ago.

The visitors won the title months ago now, but it hasn’t stopped them from battering teams left, right, and centre. Their elimination from the Champions League seemed to light a fire underneath them, and since then they have won four matches on the bounce, scoring 13 goals and conceding one, won the Coupe de la Ligue, and made it to the Coupe De France Final. Not a bad recovery.

Unfortunately for Gazelec Ajaccio, they can’t expect to sit back and soak up the pressure from Paris Saint Germain. Their defence simply isn’t good enough, as is evident by the fact that they have conceded 16 goals in their last nine home matches and eight in their last three.

This has resulted in some high scoring matches at the Stade Ange Casanova, with six of their last ten ending with at least three goals scored. The chances of a goalfest have increased even further recently as Gazelec Ajaccio have desperately searched for results, so odds of 6/10 for Over 2.5 Goals look good.
