Genk vs Anderlecht Betting Tips & Predictions

The Belgian Pro League title was officially wrapped up on Sunday when Club Brugge romped to an impressive 4-0 victory over Anderlecht. This left top of the table Brugge six points clear of 2nd placed Anderlecht, and with the points rounding system in the Belgian Pro League Championships it means that the title is mathematically sealed.

Anderlecht still have a bit of work to do to wrap up 2nd place though. Gent are six points behind them and also hold an advantage in the points rounding system, meaning Anderlecht need a point from their final two games to secure the runners up position and make it into the Champions League next season.

Genk sit down in 4th position, two points behind Gent and hoping to leapfrog them and earn themselves a definite Europa League qualification spot for next season. As long as they can match Gent’s result in the penultimate round of matches they will have the chance to leapfrog them when they play each other on the final day of the season.

The hosts aren’t in the best of form at the moment though. They began the playoffs with three wins from their first four games, but their last four have seen them lose three times and win just once.

Anderlecht have managed to win five of their eight championship games so far, but their two defeats have been heavy ones as KV Oostende and Club Brugge both put four past them.

The visitors defence has certainly let them down a lot away from home this season. They have conceded 15 goals in their last six away matches, but they have managed to find the back of the net themselves in five of those games. Genk have netted 18 times in their last six home matches but conceded in all but two of them, so a high scoring match with both sides being involved seems an appealing option.

Odds of 10/11 for Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals look excellent value considering five of Genk’s last seven home games and five of Anderlecht’s last seven away games have ended this way. I’m going for a 3-2 win for the hosts at huge odds of 20/1 as well.
