Genk can claim first three points

Genk kicked off the new season with a draw at Standard Liege and will be looking to register a first win of the campaign when Oostende visit on Friday evening.

The Blauw-Wit needed a last gasp goal from Theo Bongonda to salvage a point in Liege but on the balance of play a draw was probably a fair result.

Oostende started the First Division A season with a disappointing defeat at home to Charleroi and they’re unlikely to get any joy at the Luminus Arena on Friday.

De Kustboys came in fifth in the Belgian top flight last term but their away form was generally poor and they managed just 21 of their 53 points on their travels.

Oostende managed just 16 goals in their 17 away games, with six wins, three draws and nine defeats.

Genk won nine of their 17 home fixtures last season and lost just three, they also won five of their final seven home games – drawing the other two – and we feel they should be able to pick up all three points when Oostende visit on Friday.

Oostende have only failed to score in one of their last 16 competitive away games and may be able to find a way through at Genk, but the hosts should still be able to grab a win and a 3-1 home win has some appeal in the correct score market,
