Tip Reasoning

  • There have been three or more goals in Charleroi’s last seven away matches
  • Genk have conceded at least two times in five of their last seven home fixtures
  • There have been 61 goals in Genk’s 18 league fixtures this season

Charleroi going strong

Edward Still’s side have had an excellent opening few months of the campaign and sit in fourth place in the table. They have won six of their last eight in the league and are scoring plenty of goals.

Indeed, Charleroi have netted 32 times in total in the Belgian First Division A, with their 19 strikes in nine away matches second only to league leaders Royal Antwerp.

They are conceding plenty as well though, with their defence breached on 13 occasions on the road, so whenever they play, goals are expected.

Genk in a rut

Genk on the other hand are seriously struggling. They have not won in seven games in all competitions and have registered just one win in their last nine league matches, conceding 18 goals in the process.

Glen Riddersholm’s side have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 fixtures in the Belgian top flight, with seven of their last 12 matches containing three or more goals.

They do, in fact, have one of the worst defences in the league. Only five teams have conceded more than their total of 30 goals, but on the flip-side, they have netted 31 times, the best record outside the top five.

There should be goals galore in this one, given both teams’ respective records, so I predict 3+ goals in the match, but, especially considering Genk’s form, Charleroi look too strong, so I predict a 3-1 correct score.
