Inter Milan To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Inter have won seven of their eight away Serie A games this season, without conceding in six. Also, the Nerazzurri have beaten Genoa in seven of their last eight meetings and not conceded in any of them.

Inter Milan 1-0

Reason for tip

Genoa have not conceded more than once in any of their last six home league games. They catch a break with Inter top scorer Lautaro Martinez being absent again here, but one goal could be enough for the Serie A leaders if their impressive defence keeps a seventh clean sheet on the road.

Nerazzurri can clean up again in Genoa

Inter can maintain their advantage at the summit of Serie A with a win at mid-table Genoa on Friday and the Nerazzurri should probably achieve it with a clean sheet.

Simone Inzaghi’s side have blanked six of their eight away league opponents so far this season, winning on the road seven times.

Although Genoa stood firm to claim a 1-1 draw at home to Juventus a fortnight ago, Inter are a much more potent force than the Old Lady right now.

Martinez-less Inter should still see off Rossoblu

History also suggests this could be a fruitless outing for the Rossoblu’s forward line as Genoa have not scored in any of their past eight meetings with Inter dating back to February 2018.

Alberto Gilardino can be fairly satisfied with the first half of the campaign as avoiding an immediate return to Serie B was his brief at the start of the season. A haul of 19 points from their first 17 games has been enough to keep them out of the relegation conversation, with the vast majority coming at home.

However, Inter are hard to oppose at the moment and should overcome the absence of leading scorer Lautaro Martinez to pick up a win to nil here. Genoa look likely to be without Mateo Retegui and Milan loanee Junior Messias too, tipping the balance firmly in the visitors’ favour.
