Genoa vs Palermo Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Can Genoa build on their victory over Fiorentina on Thursday night and push up the table? Winning that game in hand moved the hosts up to 10th place, just five points shy of the top six in the table. They have an excellent opportunity to push on up the table with an easy looking home match coming up on Sunday night.

Genoa host Palermo, who are the bottom side in Serie A heading towards the winter break. They’ve been awful so far, and nothing they’ve done has arrested their slide towards Serie B. The Rosanero have changed managers eight times in 2016, and they’re about to wrap up the year propping up the rest of the top flight.

Those were all big wins, matches which they’d have been expected to struggle in. However, they hammered both Juve and AC, putting three goals past each of them. So, just what kind of damage could they do against a Palermo side who concede 1.94 goals per game this season?

Genoa concede once every two games on average at the Luigi Ferraris, while they average two points per game at their own ground. The Rosanero take just 0.38 per match this season. They’re clearly not good enough to cause the Rossoblu much trouble, plus the visitors are far too open at the back. They face 15 shots per outing, while they create about half that number of chances going forward. The hosts are clinical, hitting the back of the net from 12% of their chances.
