- Genoa have drawn each of their last five home games, with three of them ending 1-1.
Genoa set for another home draw
This isn’t quite a relegation six-pointer, but with Genoa and Spezia tied on points in 14th and 15th respectively it could prove pivotal in both teams’ battle for survival. They have a five point advantage over 18th-placed Cagliari but with six games remaining they are still very much in the picture.
Wins against Crotone and Cagliari in the last month have strengthened Spezia’s position but both of these victories came on home soil and their chances of walking away with the three points on Saturday look slim. The visitors have lost five in a row away from home, although it is worth noting that they have faced Juventus, Atalanta and Lazio in this period.
Genoa have proved difficult to beat on their own patch too. In fact, their last home loss came before Christmas and since then they have taken points from ten games in a row there. Seven of these, including each of the last five, have ended as draws though and that’s how we’re expecting this one to pan out.
Punters can expect goals at both ends as well, which is unsurprising given these sides have shipped 108 league goals between them this term. Genoa have seen both teams score in each of their last six and in 13 of their last 15 at home, while Spezia have seen goals at both ends in each of their last seven matches. We’re going for that along with Genoa’s fourth 1-1 draw in five games as our correct score prediction.
- Genoa have played seven Serie A home games this season with under 2.5 goals
- Both teams scored in Spezia’s last Serie A away game
