Getafe vs Barcelona Betting Tips

The Catalans will be without the injured Lionel Messi and suspended Javier Mascherano here but are otherwise close to full strength and it will certainly be a very different eleven to the almost unrecognisable Barca team that drew 0-0 at tiny Villanovense in the Copa del Rey in midweek.

They come into this game hoping to avoid a 3rd straight La Liga away defeat following losses at Celta Vigo and Sevilla. This isn’t as tough a game but Getafe should not be underestimated and they are capable of giving Barca a real run for their money here.

The side from the capital region have won their last 3 home league games, scoring 8 times in the process without conceding. They were though battered 5-0 at Sevilla last time out and will be without the suspended Carlos Vigaray for this one.

The Coliseum Alfonso Pérez was one of only 5 grounds where Barcelona dropped points last season and Getafe will certainly fancy their chances of scoring in the game given Barca’s defensive struggles. They have conceded 12 goals already, more than any other side in the top seven and 9 more than Real Madrid.

Both teams have scored in all of their last 7 Primera Division games and that seems likely to be the case here given Getafe’s recent home goal glut. Barca have won 5 of those matches though and should have enough quality to do likewise here for a much needed 3 points.

Odds of 8/5 certainly look really good value for backing Barcelona to win this game but both teams to score.
