Getafe vs Las Palmas Betting Tips

After starting the season with three straight defeats, following on from a poor end to the last campaign there were one or two suggestions that Getafe might just be in for a long hard battle against the drop. However they’ve picked up of late and have looked more like the side that impressed for a large chunk of last season.

They’ve won their last two home games without conceding, seeing off Malaga 1-0 prior to what was ultimately a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Levante, even though it took them 80 minutes to break the deadlock. Even on the road they’ve looked more assured, pushing Atletico Madrid pretty close at the Vicente Calderon before holding firm for a 0-0 draw at 3rd place Celta Vigo in their last game.

At home to a struggling Las Palmas side they certainly look worth backing at 23/20 to secure all the points. The Canary Islanders picked up an impressive 2-0 win at home to Sevilla and scored 3 times to earn a draw in Vigo but overall have been struggling to adapt to life at this level.

Recent home defeats against Rayo Vallecano and Eibar will have really set the alarm bells ringing on Gran Canaria and it has left them just 1 place off the bottom of the table. They need to be picking up points against the sides who are likely to be in the bottom half come May and you could put Getafe in that category too.

However with the home side in good form and playing pretty well they may struggle to get anything here. They have been surprisingly positive in some of their away matches so far and even managed a goal at the Camp Nou so this might not be a bad game but it is one Getafe should edge and they are worth a punt to win 2-1 at 8/1.
