Gills struggling to keep afloat

Back-to-back league defeats has seen Gillingham slip to 20th in the table just one point above the relegation zone. They are winless in eight games in all competitions and have won just one of their last 13 matches (D4, L8).

At home, they have won just one of their last 11 fixtures and have taken just nine points from nine league matches scoring just seven times. Only Fleetwood have taken fewer points from their home matches (8).

Pompey flying

Five straight wins in all competitions has turned the tide in Portsmouth and three league victories in the space of 10 days has lifted Danny Cowley’s men to ninth, three points off the play-offs.

After wins over Wycombe and Wimbledon, Portsmouth ran riot in Lincoln with a 3-0 victory to secure back-to-back away wins for the first time since April.

Pompey had been beaten in five of their seven previous away matches prior to their victory at 2nd place Wycombe but that victory really was a turning point and I’m predicting them to carry their newfound momentum into this game and leave with all three points with a comfortable 2-0 win.
