Girona vs Arsenal Predictions

- Kai Havertz is Arsenal’s top scorer with 14 goals in all competitions
Gunners all but through to last 16
After suffering from a dip in form either side of the new year, Arsenal have looked back in business recently and they should be too strong for Girona in their final league phase fixture in the Champions League.
Although blowing a two-goal lead against Aston Villa as part of the run was not ideal, Arsenal have won three of their last four matches, digging deep to beat Wolves 1-0 on Saturday.
The match at Molineux was a scrappy affair and Arsenal had to play a fair portion with ten men after Myles Lewis-Skelly’s controversial red card.
But they kept pushing and got the win thanks to Riccardo Calafiori’s strike, keeping them in contention for the Premier League title.
They are also all but through to the last 16 of the Champions League, able to guarantee a spot with by avoiding defeat in this contest.
But even if Arsenal were to sustain a surprise defeat away to Girona, it would take a specific set of results for them to drop out of the top eight.
Expect a solid performance from Arteta’s men
Nonetheless, Mikel Arteta’s men should not sit back and will want to finish as high as possible heading into the knockout phase.
They have shown their mettle against some strong teams in this season’s competition, beating PSG, Monaco and Dinamo Zagreb at home and dismantling Sporting Lisbon 5-1 on the road.
They look a solid enough pick to beat Girona, who have underwhelmed in this season’s Champions League and are already eliminated.
They have lost their last four games in the competition against PSV, Sturm Graz, Liverpool and AC Milan without even scoring and an Arsenal win to nil is the way to go.
Havertz should have more luck on Wednesday
As for a correct score pick, Girona have lost their last three games in this competition 1-0 and that looks as good a pick as any.
Kai Havertz could not find his shooting boots against Wolves last time out, spurning several opportunties, but he continues to find good spaces in the box and took up more of a targetman-like role at Molineux.
He is Arsenal’s top scorer with 14 goals in all competitions this term, netting four times in the Champions League, and he is a good selection to find the net.
