Tip Reasoning

Few sides have been as impressive as FC Eindhoven in recent weeks; Blauw-witten have won their last four on the spin in Eerste Divisie to move into contention for the Play-offs, and they jump into the top nine on match day 23 when they take on Go Ahead Eagles at De Adelaarshorst. David Nascimento’s side will have to step up again though here if they’re to extend their winning streak, with Eagles still going well in 3rd and boasting a tremendous record in Deventer.

FC Eindhoven have really taken off so far in 2019, and they backed up consecutive victories against Jong (1-2), NEC (3-2) and Volendam (1-3) with a fine 2-0 triumph over long time leaders Den Bosch at Jan Louwers Stadion last week thanks to late goals from Collin Seedorf and Elisha Sam.

David Nascimento’s side more than matched The Blue White Dragons throughout and were fully deserving of the win which ended Den Bosch’s remarkable 16 game unbeaten streak in the league.

Confidence will be absolutely flowing through the FC Eindhoven camp following that result, and a Play-off spot looks inevitable for Blauw-witten if they can sustain current form through to the end of the season. Nascimento’s team have been building for some time now after a woeful start to the campaign, and they will be a team that many will want to avoid come the end of season shoot-out.

Nonetheless, they travel to De Adelaarshorst as massive underdogs this Friday against a Go Ahead side that have lost just once at home this term.

John Stegeman’s men have won eight and drawn two of their 11 fixtures in Deventer thus far, which narrowly rates as the second best home record in the league behind 4th placed Sparta Rotterdam.

And Eagles have already bested Eindhoven twice this season, which has clearly influenced the bookmakers towards installing them as odds-on favourites for this week’s contest. Go Ahead pinched a 1-2 win at Jan Lowers Stadion back in August, before posting a 2-0 victory here in the KNVB Beker the following month.

But FC Eindhoven have vastly transformed themselves since the early weeks of the campaign, and the visitors are hard to resist at the prices here based on what they’ve achieved recently.

As well as winning their last four overall, Eindhoven have also landed maximum points in their last four matches on the road – so their current away form easily stacks up to Go Ahead’s consistency at De Adelaarshorst.

With Eagles losing three of their last eight overall in the league (with that sole home reversal against Oss also coming in that period) and missing top scorer Thomas Verheydt through a foot injury, we want to take on the hosts here by backing Eindhoven to notch a fifth successive league win.

Best prices of just under 4/1 at time of press can’t be passed up on the visitors who are flying right now, and we’re predicting a 1-2 scoreline in their favour this Friday.
