Reason for tip

Granada have won consecutive matches, including a 1-0 victory over promotion-chasing Huesca, to pull out of the relegation zone. A point would be a decent result against a visiting Las Palmas side that remain unbeaten away from home in the league this year with two wins and a draw. Three of the last six league meetings between these clubs have finished all square.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Three of the last six league meetings between these clubs have finished level with two of those contests concluding at 1-1. Another low-scoring draw could be on the cards here with Las Palmas bringing the best defensive record in the division to Granada.

Granada are getting their act together

Fourth-bottom Granada will look to continue their recent upturn on Friday when they host fifth-placed Las Palmas at Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes.

Things appear to be coming together for the Andalusian side, who have recorded back-to-back wins against Huesca and Real Sociedad B to clamber out of the relegation zone.

Las Palmas, meanwhile, are mounting a bid to regain their spot in La Liga. Luis Garcia’s side currently lie in fifth place and could jump to the top of the standings with a win on Friday.

Risk-averse teams could settle for a draw

The Canarian club are unbeaten on the road this year with two wins, against lowly Cordoba and Leganes either side of a 0-0 draw at seventh-placed Burgos. They boast the best defensive record in the division and will make it tough for Granada to maintain their winning run.

A low-scoring draw would be a decent result for both clubs, although it will be a missed opportunity for both to continue their forward momentum. Three of the last six meetings of these clubs have ended all square, so there may be an element of both teams being a bit risk-averse when they meet – especially as Granada registered a paltry 0.10 expected goals in their 1-1 draw two seasons ago.
