Greenock Morton vs Rangers Betting Tips

Greenock Morton managed to get a win in their last match when they dispatched of Livingston in the Scottish Cup, ending their run of three matches without a win.

This makes it two wins, two defeats, and a draw in their last five matches in all competitions, although their one draw did come at the Ibrox against Rangers.

This was an excellent result for Greenock Morton due to the sheer dominance that Rangers are displaying in the Scottish Championship this season.

They sit at the top of the table with a huge 50 points from their opening 20 matches, although the equally impressive Falkirk and Hibernian are only five points behind them.

This will be spurring the Glasgow giants on to keep winning, and they have done just that recently. They followed up their 2-2 draw with Greenock Morton by losing to Falkirk, but since then they have won four on the trot and scored 19 goals on the way.

Their goals tally in the Scottish Championship now sits at 61 from 20 matches, with only 16 being shipped at the other end.

Greenock Morton sit in a mid-table position with 24 points from 19 matches, with their goalscoring tally sitting on a much more humble 19. It’s still been a good season for Morton though, who will just be happy to be nine points clear of the relegation playoff position with a couple of games in hand to boot.

How Rangers only drew with Morton last time out defies me. They had 74% possession and 15 attempts on goal compared to Morton’s five shots. Rangers managed a 4-0 win over them back in September as well, so I think the draw in December was just an anomaly.

Each of Rangers’ last seven matches in all competitions have ended with three or more goals scored, with a total of 38 goals being scored during this period. This makes odds of 4/5 for a Rangers Win and Over 2.5 Goals look very good value for money, and I’m also backing a 4-0 win for Rangers at 11/1.
