Continental aspirations

As for Fluminense, they returned to winning ways with a late injury-time goal to defeat Sport Recife 1-0 and move up to 8th in the standings. However, two straight away losses prior to that win means Flu have work to do if they are to finish in the top-six and qualify for the Copa Libertadores.

Just four of their 11 wins this season have come on the road and if Fluminense are to have any chance of climbing the table they will need to sort out their away form.

They have lost three of their last four without scoring and won just one of their last five league games away from home. That’s why we’re leaning towards a narrow home win here as Gremio will see this as a real chance to take all three points and the home support should push them.
