Hamburg vs Werder Bremen Predictions

Goals could be at a premium when Hamburg host Werder Bremen on Sunday, and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet. Five of Bremen’s last seven Bundesliga games have stayed under 2.5 goals.

Werder Bremen are four places above Hamburg in the table, with a four-point advantage. The hosts are 13th with three wins and six defeats, while the visitors sit ninth having won four and lost four.

Hamburg beat Stuttgart 2-1 last weekend in their last home game, but they have recorded only one victory in their last six games in the Bundesliga. Werder Bremen have not won any of their last four away games.

Werder Bremen threw away a late lead to draw 1-1 with Hamburg in their last Bundesliga game, which kept up their recent trend for matches with under 2.5 goals. They were priced as 6/5 favourites to win, but were unable to reward their backers.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. Four of Hamburg’s last six Bundesliga games have ended with both sides scoring and, while Werder Bremen won 1-0 last time they met Hamburg in the league, both sides scored in four of the previous five meetings.
