Hamilton vs Hearts Predictions

  • Hamilton has scored an average of 1 goal per home tie this season.
  • Hearts have failed to score a single goal in any of their last seven away games.
  • The Jambos have lost their last four away matches and haven’t won since the end of September.

Unlucky Accies

Hamilton suffered their third consecutive defeat last week as they lost 1-0 to Aberdeen, a result that anchored them down in bottom place after a terrible few weeks for the club in which they’ve lost four of their last five games. The Accies have done slightly better at home, although they’ve still only picked up two points in their last five.

Brian Rice’s side has also done well to threaten teams in attack at New Douglas Park, as they’ve scored nine goals in as many games, failing to find the back of the net on just three occasions. Hamilton hasn’t conceded that many either, letting in 13 goals and never more than three but failing to keep a clean sheet in eight of their nine home ties.

Goalless Hearts on the road

It was two defeats from two for Daniel Stendel during the week as Hearts lost yet another game- this time to league leaders Celtic- to make it ten defeats this season, with goal difference being the reason why the Jambos aren’t currently bottom of the league.

This will also be Stendel’s first away game, where Hearts are currently struggling at the moment. The Edinburgh club has lost its last four away games and saw out two goalless draws before that. Moreover, Hearts haven’t scored a single goal away from home in their last seven away games in the league. The Jambos have also conceded an average of 1.89 goals, keeping a clean sheet just twice.

Accies to extend Jambos’ heartbreak

Both teams come into this game in overall equal form, but Hearts are in a real slump at the moment when playing away from home. The fact the Jambos haven’t scored an away goal since the end of September is damaging, which is why we’re going to back the hosts to win here. However, we’re going for a narrow 1-0 win for Hamilton, as they have only scored an average of a goal per home game, whilst Hearts have let in 1.89 on the road and don’t seem to be changing any time soon- even with their new manager.
