Hannover 96 vs Osnabruck Predictions

Osnabruck’s woes may be extended

Osnabruck kicked off their Bundesliga 2 campaign by piecing together a seven-game unbeaten sequence, but they have lost eight of their last 11 league fixtures and that fast start is a distant memory.

Marco Grote’s side have suffered defeat in each of their last four league contests, a poor run that was triggered by a shock 3-2 home reverse against bottom club Wurzburger Kickers on January 9.

Since then things have got even worse for Osnabruck and they have been thrashed 5-0 at Hamburg and failed to score in home losses to Erzgebirge Aue and Greuther Furth.

And Osnabruck’s woes may be extended at Hannover, who have won five of their opening eight home league games.

Hannover have recorded home wins over second-placed Bochum as well as accounting for Fortuna Dusseldorf and Karlsruher, who sit fifth and sixth respectively.

Kenan Kocak’s men have conceded only seven goals from those eight home outings and they may frustrate an Osnabruck side who are finding goals hard to come by.

Hannover have kept five clean sheets in eight games and that defensive discipline should serve them well against the visitors. We predict Hannover to win 1-0 – three of Osnabruck’s last five defeats have been by that scoreline.
