Hearts vs Aberdeen Betting Tips

Hearts hit the ground running at warp speed after being emphatically promoted from the Championship last season.

They won the second tier by a huge margin of 21 points over 2^nd placed Hibenian, and they continued this excellent form into the top tier of Scottish football.

They won all of their opening five games in the league, and also progressed twice in the Scottish League Cup.

But a 3-2 defeat to Hamilton at the end of August saw them drop their first points, and they followed it up with another loss at Inverness on Friday.

Both of these losses have come against decent teams away from home, so I don’t think there’s too much cause for concern yet, but with Aberdeen in such fine form I wouldn’t rule out another loss for them.

Aberdeen did what Heart’s couldn’t and beat Hamilton in a midweek fixture on Tuesday to follow up their impressive victory over Scottish champions Celtic at the weekend.

This extended their perfect start to the Scottish Premiership, and they are now five points ahead of Celtic at the summit of the table.

Aberdeen started the season brightly last season as well, but not quite on this level. Eventually they succumbed to the relentless consistency of Celtic though and couldn’t manage to prise the title away from Glasgow.

But if they can continue in this vein they might have a chance of taking the title away from Celtic and Rangers for the first time since Alex Ferguson was manager of Aberdeen, in 1985.

But Aberdeen haven’t won against Hearts in any of their last four meetings, with Hearts taking the victory twice and it ending as a draw twice. To make things worse, Aberdeen haven’t won at Hearts since 2010, a run that stretches back 14 matches.

This makes odds of 1/1 for an Aberdeen win look somewhat unattractive, and I think I would rather lump for a Hearts Win or Draw Double Chance at 5/6, along with a 1-1 draw at 11/2.
