      Hearts vs Hibernian Predictions

Hearts ran away with the Scottish Championship title last season, and they’re making waves in the top flight in their return to the Premiership as well.

Their excellent run of results in the league have taken them to 3rd position in the Premiership, although the 11 point gap between them and 2nd placed Aberdeen indicates that they may have hit their ceiling.

As far as form goes they are looking very difficult to beat at the moment. They have lost just one of their last 12 matches in all competitions, and three of their last five outings have ended in victory.

Hearts’ last Scottish FA Cup outing saw them dispatch of 2nd placed Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen in a 1-0 victory, and they will be confident that they can get past a Hibernian side who are focusing on making a return to the top flight after narrowly missing out last season.

Hibernian lost in the promotion playoff after finishing 2nd last season, ultimately dooming them to another season in the Championship. It’s looking like they could have to go through the same ordeal this term as well, as Rangers are in scintillating form and have opened up an eight point lead in the second tier.

Hibernian are doing their best to keep up though. They have won five of their last six and drawn their remaining match away to 3rd placed Falkirk. They have only lost once since August in all competitions as well, which has seen them secure a place in the Scottish League Cup Final.

Hibernian’s record is quite unbelievable really. They have won 20 of their last 24 matches in all competitions and have only lost once.

The visitors are also unbeaten against Hearts in their last three outings, with two draws and a win ending Hearts streak of three wins in a row against them.

However, Hearts are looking really good in the top flight this season and they ran away with the Championship last season. I think the hosts can get a win on Sunday, and the odds of 6/5 on offer for that outcome are excellent value. I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1 as well.
