Hearts vs Kilmarnock Predictions
- Hearts have taken four points from their last two games at Tynecastle, drawing with Aberdeen and beating Rangers.
- Kilmarnock is winless in their last seven away games, failing to win since the start of October.
- Hearts have scored an average of 1.17 goals this season at home, with Kilmarnock conceding 1.67 times on their travels.
Hearts back on the right track
Following their five-game losing streak, Hearts made it four games in a row without defeat when they salvaged a point against St Johnstone over the weekend and pushed up to 11th place. The Jambos now return to Tynecastle, where they’ve only won twice this season.
Daniel Stendel’s men still have their work cut out for them, although their last two home ties saw the Jambos grab a point off Aberdeen and then beat Rangers. The Gorgie side has struggled for goals at home, netting just 1.17 per game, but the return of Steven Naismith and the signing of Liam Boyce has already proven to be fruitful, with the duo netting four of the Jambos’s last six goals.
Killie back to winning ways
Kilmarnock finally put an end to their nine-game winless run and seven-game losing streak as they overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat Ross County 3-1 at Rugby Park in what was manager Alex Dyer’s first win since Angelo Alessio’s sacking.
Killie’s away record remains poor and are winless in any of their last eight away days, managing just two wins since the start of the season and picking up just seven points from 36. The return of Kirk Broadfoot to the club could solidify a weakened defence that’s let in an average of 1.67 goals on the club’s travels. The Ayrshire side still has a problem upfront, where they’ve only scored seven times on the road.
Jambos for the win
Hearts have certainly restarted their season and their last two home ties saw the club pick up very important points by drawing with Aberdeen and beating Rangers. Killie is still searching for their first away win since the start of October and we don’t believe they’ll be able to break their streak, which is why we’re backing the hosts here to win.
As for the final score, we’re going to go with a narrow 1-0 win for Hearts, as they have scored an average of 1.17 goals at home this season, with their opponents letting in 1.67 goals on their travels and scoring just 7 times in their 12 away days so far.
