- Hearts have scored twice in all three meetings between these two sides this season

- The Gers have scored 30 times in 16 away trips this season
- Over 2.5 goals has landed in each of Hearts’ last three
Top of the table clash shouldn’t be cagey
Monday’s showdown between leaders Hearts and third-placed Rangers could decide the destination of the Premiership title, but that shouldn’t lead to a cagey game.
The Gers will see this as a must-win as they aim to close a four-point gap with four games remaining, after they slipped off the title pace with a 3-2 home defeat to Motherwell in their last game. The visitors’ last four matches have featured 25 goals, while over 2.5 has landed in each of the Jambos’ last three.
Hearts have scored 32 goals in 17 home games, and they’ve netted twice in all three meetings with Rangers this term, but they were beaten 4-2 at Ibrox in February.
Lawrence Shankland struck the winner when these sides met in December, while he scored both goals in their 2-0 win at Ibrox in September. The forward was a big miss for Hearts during his two months on the sidelines, but he’s scored twice and registered an assist in his first three starts since returning to fitness.
Shankland should be backed to score again, with chances expected at both ends in this one. The Gers have the league’s best record on the road, scoring 30 times across 16 trips, while losing only once.
