RB Leipzig 2-1

Reason for tip

RB Leipzig beat Heidenheim 2-1 at home earlier this season and it is easy to see how this result could be repeated. Leipzig have scored multiple goals in six of their last eight away league games, but rarely keep clean sheets on the road while Heidenheim have gone goal crazy of late. The hosts have conceded exactly two goals in five of their last eight home games and scored exactly once in four of their last six such games.

Bayern should have seen Heidenheim comeback coming

Heidenheim will hope lightning strikes twice when they play host to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

The second division champions could hardly have expected to beat the mighty Bayern Munich in their maiden top-flight campaign but that is exactly what Frank Schmidt’s side did two weeks ago – and in thrilling fashion.

Heidenheim fought back from two goals down at the break to upset Thomas Tuchel’s team 3-2 and spark memorable scenes for all but those from Bavaria. But perhaps we should have seen it coming because Heidenheim were seconds away from winning at Stuttgart by the same score seven days before.

Back goals for both sides

They made newly-crowned champions Bayer Leverkusen sweat all the way to the final whistle back in February too, so a home victory against the Red Bulls cannot be ruled out here.

Marco Rose’s side arrive with some of the best away form in Germany, which includes a 4-1 win at a Freiburg side a couple of places above Heidenheim in the table.

The safest play here appears to be backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals, which has been landing almost every time Leipzig take to the road.
