Hoffenheim find themselves in real trouble at the moment. Their terrible record in the Bundesliga this season has them languishing in the relegation zone with less than half the season left to play.

They’re not even close to escaping from the drop zone either. They sit 2^nd from bottom, level on points with bottom of the table Hannover. Both teams are five points adrift of Werder Bremen in the relegation playoff position and seven points off the safety of 15^th position.

This puts Darmstadt in 14^th position, with just two points separating them from the relegation playoff position that Werder Bremen occupy.

Away from home they do seem to be better though. Darmstadt have won four, lost three, and drawn one of their last eight away days in the Bundesliga, and they are coming up against an out of form side on Sunday.

But Hoffenheim have managed to pick up points in four of their last five home matches, although only one of these matches resulted in a maximum haul of points for them.

This makes odds of 5/6 for a Darmstadt Win or Draw Double Chance look good value to me, and I think the spoils will be shared so I’m also backing a 1-1 correct score prediction at 5/1.
