      Honduras vs Mexico Predictions

Honduras made the cold trip up north to Canada on Saturday to face Canada in the opening game of their World Cup qualifying campaign, and their coldness counted for nothing as they came away on the back of a 1-0 defeat.

This makes it just one win from their last 11 matches, with a 3-0 win over Venezuela breaking up their record of five losses and five draws.

Mexico came into the new World Cup qualifying campaign in higher spirits than their opponents, and it paid off on the pitch.

They beat El Salvador 3-0 thanks to goals from Andres Guardado, Hector Herrera, and Carlos Vela, which further extended their unbeaten streak.

They have now not long in any of their last 13 games, with a 2-1 loss against Ecuador in the Copa America being the last time they tasted defeat.

Mexico have won seven of these 13 matches, although three of these required extra time to be played.

Honduras did manage to get a win over Mexico back in qualifying in 2013, but that is the only time they have beaten Mexico in the last six meetings between the sides. Mexico have won three of these games, with a draw being played out twice.

Mexico have the stronger team coming into this and their form is excellent. They have scored 15 times in their last six outings and come up against a side who have only kept a clean sheet once in their last eight games.

This is making me lean decisively towards a Mexico win, and attractive looking odds of 17/20 make this my main tip for this game. I’m going for a 2-0 correct score prediction as well, with odds of 7/1 for that looking good value for money.
