Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

This arena has seen plenty of tight and close clashes with 10 of the 15 league matches to take place there this season producing fewer than three goals. Similar is true for the visitors who’s games on the road have witnessed less than three more often than not. The hosts have struggled going forward and have failed to score more than once in seven of their previous eight outings. Another tight match is expected and under 2.5 goals makes appeal.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Goals have been few and far between when Huddersfield take to home turf and that’s how we expect this one to turn out as well. The hosts have struggled for goals lately but they’ll look to try and contain Birmingham City and take something from this one. It’s hard to separate this two outfits and we think a 1-1 draw looks possible.

Huddersfield vs Birmingham Predictions

  • Ten of Huddersfield’s 15 home league outings have featured fewer than three goals.
  • Over half of the visitors’ road matches have seen under 2.5 goals land.
  • Huddersfield have failed to score more than once in seven of their last eight matches.

The Terriers are desperate for points

Neil Warnock was given a perfect example of the problems he will be tasked with fixing when watching his new side get thumped 3-0 by Stoke City on Wednesday. They’re now four points adrift of safety in the Championship but a return to home soil will be welcomed given this venue is where they have claimed the majority of their points.

The visitors are eight points clear of the relegation zone and will have their eyes set on pushing up the league table towards to try and enter the conversation for a place in the playoffs. But in order to do so they need to start scoring more consistently, particularly away from home where they have failed to hit the back of the net in nearly half of those fixtures.

Honours even in Huddersfield

This venue has averaged less than two goals per game this season and new boss Warnock will be eager to tighten this side up defensively first and foremost. Birmingham City have not been involved in too many thrillers either and a tight clash looks in the offing. With that in mind, we like the look of under 2.5 goals.
