      Huddersfield vs Blackburn Predictions

The visitors have lost Josh King and Rudy Gestede over the summer to Premier League clubs but fortunately still have Jordan Rhodes who is always capable of popping up with a goal. They lost 2-1 at home to Wolves on the opening day and were beaten at Ewood again by the same scoreline in midweek by lower league opposition in the form of Shrewsbury.

On a more positive note they have scored in each of their last 13 matches including pre-season games and we can certainly see them getting on the scoresheet in Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon although with their defence struggling it may not be enough to secure all the points.

Huddersfield have also been beaten on both outings so far this term which will have come as a big disappointment given they ended last season well going unbeaten in their final 7 Championship matches.

There was no disgrace in losing 2-0 at recently relegated Hull City on the opening day but a 2-1 home defeat to 10 man Notts County in the Capital One Cup was rather more embarrassing.

Both teams have scored in each of the last 3 meetings between the sides at The John Smith’s Stadium. Two of those games finished 2-2 including one as recently as April while Blackburn won 4-2 in 2014.

We can see both sides scoring again here at 8/11 and there are likely to be plenty of chances in the game with Huddersfield and Blackburn looking decidedly shaky at the back. However it may not be as high scoring as the previous 3 clashes with both teams struggling for confidence in front of goal even at this early stage in the season.

A 1-1 draw is a likely outcome and it would see both off the mark in terms of points which would be a bonus after their respective defeats last weekend.
