Tip Reasoning

  • Hull City are without a win in eight league matches, losing six.
  • Blackpool have won three of their last four Championship starts, including their last two.
  • The hosts have failed to score in seven of their last eight games, while the visitors have kept clean sheets in two of their last four.

Tangerines to win battle of newly promoted sides

Hull City’s struggles continued with a 2-0 defeat at Stoke on Saturday and The Tigers look worth opposing against fellow newly promoted side Blackpool at MKM Stadium this week.

Hull re-joined the Championship with plenty of hope after securing the League 1 title last term and The Tigers made a perfect start to life back in the second tier with a dominant 4-1 victory at Preston on the opening day of the season.

However, Grant McCann’s men have produced nowhere near the same level of performance since that trip to Deepdale. The Tigers have largely been outclassed in their eight subsequent outings, losing six and failing to score in seven.

In contrast, Blackpool appear to be firmly finding their feet in the Championship after a rocky start and they travel to Humberside this Tuesday full of confidence following consecutive wins against Middlesbrough (2-1) and Barnsley (1-0).

Those results have lifted The Tangerines up to 14th in the table and they’ll have eyes on moving into the top half with another three points at MKM Stadium. Neil Critchley’s side have lost just one of their four away games this season (W1, D2) and get our vote here in the draw no bet market, which will ensure stakes are returned should they be held to a stalemate.

We think the visitors can edge this one though to pile more misery upon the second bottom hosts and 1-0 is our correct score prediction, factoring in Hull’s consistently dismal displays in front of goal.
