Hull City vs Bolton Predictions
Hull City are on a fine run of form, which has taken them clear of any danger. The Tigers are looking like a real force despite quickly stitching together a side in the summer. It’s not too long ago that they were down at the bottom of the table with Bolton – the side they face on Tuesday. Can the visitors boost their survival chances by kicking off 2019 with three points?
Bolton face a tough test this weekend, as they go head to head with a Hull side who are in fine form. The hosts are currently third in the Championship form table, after claiming 17 points from their last eight games, something which has propelled them from the bottom three to the safety of midtable. There’s now an 11 point gap between them and fourth bottom Bolton, which has given Nigel Adkins’ side some security in the second tier.
Bolton would love to have a similar sense of security. The visitors are only outside the drop zone on goal difference. They’ve lost their last three away trips, while they come here with just one win in their last 15 matches. It certainly wasn’t a strong end to 2018 for the Trotters, but will they fare better in the New Year? A few weeks ago this would have been seen as a big opportunity for the visitors, but now they meet a strong side.
The hosts have won five of their last six games, including their last four. The weekend brought a 2-0 win at league leaders Leeds, continuing the Tigers’ momentum. They’ve secured 14 goals in their last six matches, hitting at least two goals in every game. With Bolton coming here with 10 defeats in their last 15 games in the league, we can see them struggling in Tuesday’s trip to the KCOM.
We’re backing a couple of goals for the hosts on Tuesday. The Tigers are in fine form, which has taken them clear of danger and into the safety of mid-table. This is the perfect chance for them to put even more distance between themselves and the bottom three while pushing another side closer to League One. While the hosts are a decent price to keep up their winning run, their recent surge in front of goal Is likely to continue. We’re backing over 1.5 goals for the hosts, as they look to keep up their form.
