Home advantage key for Iceland

Iceland take on Romania in Reykjavik on Thursday and home advantage may prove the difference here between two evenly-matched teams.

Romania go into this clash on the back of a four-game losing streak.  The Romanians did perform fairly well in a pair of 1-0 defeats to Germany and England during that run, but losses to Georgia and Armenia – the latter in World Cup qualifying – look more concerning.

Iceland are a tough team to beat on home soil and they have five wins in their last nine home games.  They have lost the other four, but those defeats have come at the hands of Denmark, Belgium, England and France and only one of those losses have been by more than one goal.

Iceland beat Romania 2-1 in the Nations League in 2020 and a repeat result is my correct score bet.  The Romanians have lost four of their last five away games but have at least scored in three of those outings, while Iceland have just one clean sheet in their last six at home.
