IFK Goteborg bid to back up Ostersunds success

IFK Goteborg ended a seven-match winless run by seeing off Ostersunds in their last outing and they will be looking for back-to-back wins when they host struggling Mjallby.

IFK picked up four points from their first two Allsvenskan games but have found victories hard to come by since. The Gothenburg outfit embarked on a run of five straight draws before a narrow defeat to high-fliers Elfsborg and their win at Ostersunds was just their second three points of the season.

Mjallby have had a tough start to the campaign themselves and go into the latest round of fixtures just one place above the relegation places with 10 points from as many games.  The Hallevik club came in fifth last season, but could be set for a battle against the drop this term after a disastrous start.

The visitors have just two points from five games on their travels this season and after a morale-boosting win for IFK last time out we feel they can claim a vital three points as they look to push into the top half of the table.

Goteborg won their first home game of the season but have since drawn two and lost two at the Gamla Ullevi.  Both of those losses came against teams in the top seven, and they may now be able to build some momentum and turn those draws into wins after winning at Ostersunds.  

Mjallby have at least scored in each of their last three road games and may be able to get on the scoresheet on Sunday, so we feel a 2-1 win for the hosts has a chance in the correct score market.
