Champions can churn out another win

Malmo should ensure they enter the summer break at the Allsvenskan summit by beating mid-table Varnamo on Friday night.

The Swedish champions bounced back from their 3-0 away mauling at Elfsborg by firing five goals past hapless Degerfors last weekend and appear to be back on track.

Coach Henryk Rydstrom made three changes to his line-up at Elena Stadion with the inclusion of wing-back Tasha Ali from the start proving key as he set up two of their goals. Malmo have won all five of the games he has started by a combined score of 15-1 so he may be due a run in the side.

Hosts not clinical enough to worry Malmo

Varnamo couldn’t maintain their momentum after slipping to a 2-0 defeat at Sirius last time out. Kim Hellberg’s side are not finishing off enough of the chances they create and will surely be made to pay for that by a more clinical Malmo outfit.

They have lost three of their five home contests this season without scoring and that could well happen again when Malmo, who have kept three clean sheets in their last four away trips, arrive at Finnvedsvallen.

Varnamo have not shipped more than once in any of their home contests and may have enough defensive nous to avoid a heavy defeat, hence the 1-0 score prediction.
