      Ingolstadt vs Darmstadt Predictions

Ingolstadt started their Bundesliga season well after their successful promotion campaign last term. They lost just two of their opening five matches in the top flight, winning two and drawing the remaining one.

However, the last couple of months have seen the newboys run out of steam a bit. They have only won one of their last seven Bundesliga matches. Three of these seven games have been losses, with the other three being draws.

Ingolstadt have failed to score in four of these seven matches, and despite their poor form have only conceded five goals.

Their goalless draw at Borussia Monchengladbach before the international break was the 9th match in a row that there has been less than three goals scored. High scoring matches aren’t on the agenda when Ingolstadt take to the pitch.

Darmstadt also began their top flight campaign in good stead. They went five competitive matches unbeaten right at the beginning of the season, and they still haven’t seen a really poor run of form.

They haven’t lost more than one match in a row so far this season, and their recent record stands at two wins, two losses, and a draw from their last five games.

These two sides have met each other on four occasions, including twice in the 2. Bundesliga last season. All four of these matches has ended a 2-2 draw, but I’m not expecting anywhere near four goals to be scored on Sunday.

Like their opponents, Darmstadt haven’t seen many goalfests recently. Four of their last five games have seen two or less goals hit the back of the net.

Ingolstadt just don’t set up in a way that allows many goals to be scored, unless you’re a top quality attacking team such as Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich. Darmstadt are not a top quality attacking team, and have scored just over one goal per game so far this season.

These statistics all make odds of 4/7 for Under 2.5 Match Goals look really attractive, and I’m backing that along with a 1-0 Darmstadt Win at 15/2.
