Tip Reasoning

  • Caley Thistle have won six of their past seven home League Cup games (Drawn 1).
  • Stirling Albion ended a run of five straight away defeats in this competition with a shock 3-2 win at Cove Rangers last time out.
  • Caley Thistle have not conceded in any of their last three home League Cup games.

Caley Jags to purr against Binos

Inverness CT can continue their strong start in the Scottish League Cup against League Two Stirling Albion on Saturday.

Billy Dodds’ men got their campaign off to a solid start on Tuesday by turning over League One  Peterhead 2-0.

Reports suggest it could have been more but for some wayward finishing and a lack of competitive matches, but they should be sharper for the visit of the Binos this weekend.

Kevin Rutkiewicz’s side took all three points from their first outing in the competition with the manager delighted to get a 3-2 win away at League One Cove Rangers.

Rutkiewicz was without skipper Ross McGeachie, midfielder Kurtis Roberts and new signings Dale Carrick and Ray Grant for that one, but at least some of them are expected to be available for the weekend.

The hosts boast a solid home record in this competition with six wins in their last seven at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.

And the Binos needed a 94th minute winner at Cove to end a run of five straight away defeats in the League Cup – so it’s no surprise who we are backing.

Four of the last five Stirling Albion away games have seen at least three goals scored so we are boosting the odds on an ICT victory by taking Over 2.5 goals in the game too.

With three straight home clean sheets to their name in the League Cup, we will take the Caley Jags to prevail by a score of 3-0 though.
