      Ismaily vs Aswan FC Predictions

Ismaily have missed out on the chance to challenge for the Champions League qualification positions in the Egypt Premier League. They come into the final league match of the season down in 7th in the table, with 17 points separating them from the all important top two spots, but they might have been in with a chance had it not been for a poor run of form recently.

Their win last week against Wadi Degla ended a run of six games without a win, with them only collecting three points from a possible 18 during this period. However, their previous good form means they are still in with a shot of beating their 6th place finish last season. A win on Monday could send them as high as 4th position in the table.

Aswan FC don’t have any pressure on them anymore. They were promoted from the second flight last season and their main aim was just to remain in the Premier League for another season. They have achieved this with games to spare thanks to their relegation rivals’ inadequacies. Aswan FC lie in 15th position, one position outside of the drop spots but ten points clear of El Shorta below them.

They did manage to get a win last time out at home to El Dakhleya, but prior to that they were winless in 11 matches and had lost seven of them, so it certainly isn’t thanks to their own good form that they have survived.

Away from home Aswan FC have only won once all season, and that was against the bottom placed side in the division who have only accumulated 12 points all season and are still without a win in the league. 11 of Aswan’s away days have resulted in defeat, whilst Ismaily have won five of their last nine home games in the league.

The visitors don’t really have any motivation going into this game, whilst Ismaily will be hoping to pick up another victory ahead of their cup tie with Al Masry later in July. They also have the added incentive of a potential Confederations Cup position if they win, so my prediction is for the hosts to take all three points. I’m backing an Ismaily victory at 4/6 along with a 2-0 correct score prediction at 6/1.
