      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Ivory Coast and Cameroon edged to narrow 1-0 wins in their respective group openers and this game could also be low scoring given there have been fewer than three goals scored in nine of the Elephants’ last 11 games and in each of the Indomitable Lions’ previous five.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

This game is expected to be low scoring and tight, and with a point representing a decent result for both in the context of group qualification, it could end all-square just as it did when they last met in a 2023 friendly, a match that finished 1-1.

      Ivory Coast vs Cameroon Predictions

      • Both these teams won their opening group games 1-0.
      • There have been fewer than three goals scored in nine of Ivory Coast’s last 11 matches.
      • Under 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in each of Cameroon’s last five games.

      Defending champions grinding out results

Ivory Coast and Cameroon recorded narrow 1-0 victories in their respective opening Group F matches at the Africa Cup of Nations and Sunday’s meeting could also be tight.

Defending champions Ivory Coast were dominant as they saw off group minnows Mozambique in their opener, but despite creating numerous opportunities, Amad Diallo’s strike early in the second half proved the only difference between the two sides.

That scoreline shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, as nine of the Elephants’ last 11 games have featured fewer than three goals, and none of those contests have seen goals at both ends of the pitch.

Cameroon look organised despite chaotic build up

Cameroon beat Gabon in their group opener – Karl Etta Eyong scoring the only goal inside six minutes – and there was a surprising serenity to their victory given their chaotic build up to the tournament.

David Pagou replaced Marc Brys as head coach at the start of the month and opted to leave out experienced players such as goalkeeper Andre Onana and captain Vincent Aboubakar, but despite that, Cameroon were well organised and much improved from the team that were knocked out of World Cup qualifying in November.

Like Ivory Coast, Cameroon have tended to be involved in low-scoring games of late, with each of their last five going under the 2.5 goal mark, and that trend can continue in Marrakesh on Sunday.
