      Juventus vs Chievo Predictions

It’s important not to blow Juventus’ negative start to the season out of proportion. They suffered a 1-0 defeat to Udinese, where a their new-look squad just looked flat. They were then beaten away from home by a quality Roma side. It was always going to be harder than it was last year.

There were some better signs at the end of the Roma game when Juventus pushed to equalise and did manage to pull one back. There were signs that there is quality in his squad to replace Andrea Pirlo and Carlos Tevez. Still, Juventus are not as clinical as they were when Tevez was their talisman and they also need more from their midfielders, most notably Paul Pogba.

Their challenge on Saturday will be a Chievo side that is top of the league. It might be a little difficult to comprehend, but Chievo followed up a 3-1 victory over Empoli on opening weekend with a 4-0 thrashing against Lazio.

They didn’t have the ball a lot in that game, but there are some signs that Chievo are not an opponent to be under-estimated. They defend well and in numbers and their front three featuring Alberto Paloschi, Riccardo Meggiorini and Valter Birsa looks like a dangerous attack.

      Three Reasons for Betting Tips

      1. Don’t ignore Juventus’ poor start

We think Juventus will win this game and get back towards the top of the Serie A standings, but we also don’t think ignoring their poor start makes any sense either. They’ve played mediocre football and there are signs that the balance of this side has just shifted. They’ll probably find the right elements during the course of a long season, but to tip against the Chievo Asian Handicap is to ignore Juventus’ football through two games.

      2. Chievo are decent

There are always sides that perform surprisingly well in a Serie A season, often for an inexplicable season. We don’t think Chievo will win the league or even finish in the top six, but their form so far does suggest that they could be a surprise package.

      3. Juventus will find a way to win

Even while liking the two-goal Asian Handicap, which is the best value for money, our correct score prediction does see Juventus finding a way to win this game, even if it’s more thanks to will than skill.
