Hibs can continue dominance with emphatic win

David Gray’s Hibernian side have shown why they are favourites to top Group C in the Scottish League Cup with two wins from their opening two games and they could continue to shine when they take on third tier Kelty Hearts on Saturday.

Hibs have netted ten goals across these two fixtures – winning 5-0 against Elgin before cruising to a 5-1 victory over Queens Park on Tuesday – and many of their attacking threats have starred over these two games, with both Dylan Vente and Martin Boyle scoring three goals each.

The Hearts are off the board after drawing 1-1 with Elgin in their opening cup fixture – eventually losing on penalties – but their pre-season has not gone to plan, with Michael Tidser’s men losing two of their three warm-up matches.
