Tip Reasoning

  • Stockport County have won each of their last five away league games by at least two goals.
  • Kings Lynn have won two, drawn two and lost 12 of their home league games in 2021-22.
  • Kings Lynn lost 5-0 at Edgeley Park earlier this season.

Top Hatters can cane struggling Linnets

Top-of-the table Stockport should claim a comfortable victory at Kings Lynn on Tuesday to extend their eight-game winning sequence.

County are a very good team that can sometimes get a little complacent, but manager Dave Challinor seems to know what to say and how to get his message across. The Hatters were 2-0 down at home to 16th-placed Wealdstone on Saturday when Challinor delivered his half-time team talk and within 17 minutes of the second half Stockport had taken the lead en route to a 4-2 win.

The County boss has a superb tactical brain and knows the National League inside out, so perhaps there shouldn’t be any surprise he has taken Stockport from mid-table in November to seven points clear at the top inside five months. The Hatters will arrive in Norfolk in great form and will fancy their chances of scoring a few against a team they thrashed 5-0 at home back in November.

Norfolk trip a chance for County to get some goals

Kings Lynn’s main issues are at the back where they have conceded 160 goals in 75 National League games since the start of last season. Tommy Widdrington’s men somehow kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win at fellow strugglers Aldershot on Saturday, although they rode their luck early on, with the hosts twice hitting the woodwork in the first 20 minutes.

Stockport will surely pummel Kings Lynn into submission here and look well worth supporting in the handicap markets. Challinor’s side have covered a -1 handicap in all of their last five away trips and should do so again.

A 3-0 away win is our correct score forecast because Stockport are averaging 2.9 goals per league game away from home since late October and have kept four clean sheets in their last six road trips.
