Lanus vs Boca Juniors Predictions
Friday’s Superliga Argentina action sees Lanus doing battle with Boca Juniors at the Estadio Ciudad de Lanús. An open and exciting game looks set to be in order as the two sides fight for the points on offer.
After a tricky period in which they’ve tried to blood their youngsters into first team football, it’s fair to say Lanus seem to be finding the type of level they’ve been associated with in the last decade. El Granate have typically been quite a powerful force in Argentine football and with a talented team on paper, are looking exactly that once again.
The season may be in its infancy, but Lanus are playing well and come into Friday’s game into the semi-finals of the Copa Argentina and 3rd in the league, with an impressive 19 point haul to their name after 10 matches. Unbeaten in 10 matches, the hosts have real momentum behind them and whilst a clash with Boca is never easy, confidence is certainly high going into it.
Meanwhile, while Boca showed plenty of heart and courage in their midweek Copa Libertadores, semi-final second leg with arch rivals River, they suffered defeat at the hands of them once again, despite a 1-0 win on the night. That has left a poor feeling around the club but aiming to regain their domestic crown, the visitors have no time to dwell on their disappointment.
Indeed, regaining the Superliga title after being dethroned by Racing last season is a big objective for Boca this season and Gustavo Alfaro’s men have made a great start to the domestic campaign. Indeed, Boca sit top of the pile with 21 points collected and unbeaten in an impressive 13 away league matches, they won’t be making this short trip in apprehensive mood.
Ultimately, we’re expecting a good game on Friday. It should be an open affair and both teams will be going for the win. Lanus are in excellent form and are typically strong at home whilst Boca’s quality all over the pitch always makes them a formidable opponent and they’ve been as consistent as ever in the league so far.
All things considered, we really like the look of backing both nets to be hit here and feel it provides good value with the type of match we’re likely to see. Both teams have scored in 6 of Lanus’ last 7 home league games and given that 3 of said fixtures have ended 1-1, that’s a scoreline that could well be on show once again this Friday, with the two looking too difficult to separate.
