Las Palmas vs Atletico Madrid Predictions
- Atletico Madrid have won seven of their last eight games, drawing the other.
- Atleti have conceded eight goals in their last six games.
- Las Palmas have only failed to score in one of their last five games.
Top spot beckons for Atleti
Atletico Madrid head to Las Palmas on Friday night knowing a win would see them move ahead of city rivals Real at the top of La Liga.
Los Colchoneros have been in fine form with seven wins in their last eight games in all competitions and they are unbeaten in nine.
Atleti are a little short to back in the standard match betting market, however, as Las Palmas have made the Estadio de Gran Canaria a tough hunting ground for visiting teams – losing just once in five league fixtures so far – so they can make a game of it when they take on the title contenders even if they do fail to add to their 14 points.
Las Palmas can grab a consolation effort
An away win with both teams to score looks a reasonable option here to get a bit of value out of this clash.
Atleti have only conceded nine goals in their 10 La Liga games but they’ve also managed just four clean sheets, and have shipped eight goals in their last six across all competitions.
Las Palmas have only failed to score in one of their last five and have scored four goals in total in their five home fixtures, so backing Atletico to win and concede appeals.
Only one of Atleti’s last five wins has come by more than one goal and two of those victories have been 2-1 successes, so a 2-1 win for Atleti seems a reasonable correct score prediction.
Youngster Rodrigo Riquelme started and scored for the Madrid side against Alaves last time out and produced perhaps his best display of the season, having spent last year on loan at Griona. The 23-year-old should retain his starting spot after that performance and he looks a contender for an anytime goal on Friday.
